Gilchrist Hospice Care’s services are covered by Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance companies, sponsored care, and HMOs, once a physician has certified that the patient has a terminal illness with a life expectancy of six months or less.

You may contact your insurance carrier or a representative of Gilchrist Hospice Care will be able to help determine your coverage. In-kind services and charitable care are provided through Gilchrist Hospice Care's endowment.

Gilchrist Hospice Care provides care to all qualified patients regardless of their ability to pay.

Covered services include:

• In-home visits by all members of the hospice interdisciplinary team
• Medications for pain control, symptom management and other conditions related to the terminal illness
• Medical equipment and supplies
• Bereavement support services
• Inpatient Care
• Respite Care

All of the above must be related to the life-limiting diagnosis to be covered under hospice care.

Note: Gilchrist Hospice Care will handle all the billing and payment of services and supplies as they relate to the life-limiting diagnosis.
